Forklift Fuel System - The fuel system is responsible for supplying your engine the diesel or gasoline it needs in order to run. If whatever of the different parts in the fuel system break down, your engine would not run right. There are the major components of the fuel system listed below:
Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is a holding cell for your fuel. When filling up at a gas station, the fuel travels downward the gas hose and into your tank. Within the tank there is a sending unit. This is what tells the gas gauge how much gas is in the tank.
Fuel Pump: In newer cars, nearly all contain fuel pumps normally located in the fuel tank. A lot of the older automobiles will attach the fuel pump to the engine or placed on the frame next to the engine and tank. If the pump is within the tank or on the frame rail, therefore it is electric and functions with electricity from your cars' battery, while fuel pumps that are connected to the engine utilize the motion of the engine so as to pump the fuel.
Fuel Filter: For performance and overall engine life, clean fuel is vital. The fuel injector is made up of tiny holes which block without difficulty. Filtering the fuel is the only way this can be avoided. Filters could be found either after or before the fuel pump and in several instances both places.
Fuel Injectors: Most domestic cars made after the year 1986, came from the factory with fuel injection. A computer control opens the fuel injectors in order to allow fuel into the engine, that replaced the carburator who's task initially was to perform the mixing of the air and fuel. This has caused better fuel economy and lower emissions overall. The fuel injector is basically a tiny electric valve that closes opens with an electric signal. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head, the fuel stays atomized, or in small particles, and could burn better when ignited by the spark plug.
Carburetors: Carburetors have the job of taking the fuel and mixing it with the air without any involvement from a computer. Carburetors need repeated rebuilding and retuning even if they are simple to work. This is amongst the main reasons the newer vehicles presented on the market have done away with carburetors rather than fuel injection.
